The National Basketball Association (NBA) is bending over backwards trying to placate the oppressive communist regime that rules China, all because of a little-known NBA training camp located in the western Chinese city of Xinjiang that the league doesn’t want to lose.
After previously announcing his support for the ongoing pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong, Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey did a sudden about-face on Twitter the other day, apologizing profusely for previously daring to support the peaceful freedom fighters in Hong Kong who simply want to preserve their democratic form of government from being encroached on by communist China.
Morey’s initial tweet, which has since been deleted, succinctly stated: “Fight for freedom. Stand with Hong Kong.” But the NBA appears to have barged right in and told Morey to take this tweet down and apologize for it, presumably to keep communist China, where the NBA does some of its business, from getting upset.
Even as China’s “puppet government,” as Breitbart News is calling it, has begun to use live gunfire on Hong Kong’s peaceful protesters, the NBA is still taking China’s side in oppressing not only these Hongkongers, but also the hordes of political prisoners currently being held in concentration camps near the NBA’s training camp in Xinjiang.
According to reports, China is holding captive as many as three million political prisoners in concentration camps located almost right around the corner from the NBA’s training camp, though the NBA refuses to acknowledge this. Consequently, the independent media is now warning NBA fans: If you continue to watch and support the NBA in light of all this, then you, too, support communist oppression.
“If you’re watching the NBA or supporting that product, you have to come to grips with the fact that you are supporting an industry that is working with the Chinese Communist Party, a regime that oppresses tens of millions, hundreds of millions … and you’re okay with it if you’re an NBA supporter,” stated Alex Marlow during a recent episode of Breitbart News Daily, which airs on SiriusXM.

As we’ve reported in the past, China hates religious liberty. Most of the political prisoners being detained in China are Muslim ethnic Uighurs who are being not just tortured but also raped. In many cases, these same political prisoners are also having their vital organs harvested before being forcibly sterilized and sent into a life of slavery.
But the NBA apparently couldn’t care less about these atrocities, as it’s more concerned about saving face and preserving its training camp in Xinjiang than about standing up for human rights and protecting innocent people from being abused, tortured, and murdered by an authoritarian regime.
“Every teenager who watches NBA and looks up to those players knows what the Holocaust is, knows what concentration camps are … and these kids are going to find out that China is doing that today, while they are alive,” stated Breitbart International News editor Frances Martel during the same SiriusXM program.
“And we are constantly told … we can’t let something like that happen on our watch again and the greatness of America comes from the fact that we stood up to that.”
In Martel’s view, every child who looks up to an NBA player as a role model should now be aware that this is “their time to stand up,” in spite of the fact that the NBA refuses to do so.
“Watch how the multi-millionaires of the NBA respond,” wrote one Breitbart News commenter in response to the news. “The Left demands endless sacrifice from the middle class, but heaven forbid they lose an opportunity to add another couple million to their personal wealth if it means standing up to Chinese oppression.”
