On September 3, 2019, the San Francisco board of supervisors passed a resolution declaring the National Rifle Association (NRA) a “terrorist organization.” The discriminatory, three-page dictate forbids city officials from doing business with the NRA and instructs them to “take every reasonable step to limit those entities who do business with the city and county of San Francisco from doing business” with the NRA. This political stunt is a blatant act of censorship against the NRA, a cruel act of defamation. San Francisco is violating the NRA’s speech and their freedom of association.
The NRA is a grassroots organization comprised of approximately five million Americans who value their right to defend themselves. The NRA is now suing San Francisco and calling on a federal court to put an end to the censorship, to stop the city of San Francisco from violating their freedom of association. NRA chief LaPierre said, “Some politicians forget that all 5 million of us in the NRA stand for freedom and that we believe it is a cause worth fighting for. We will always confront illegal and discriminatory practices against our organization.”
As the NRA and its five million law abiding members are falsely accused, and their freedoms restricted; the real terrorists are gleefully parading on national television, threatening the country with violence and intimidation. At the 2019 Democratic debates, many of the candidates for president are openly called for intimidation and violence to be used against law abiding Americans to force them to submit their firearms to the government. The definition of terrorism is this: the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
At a nationally televised debate, candidate Beto O’Rourke enthusiastically proclaimed, “Hell yes, we are going to take your AR-15.” The inevitability of tyrants like O’Rourke is exactly the reason why the framers of the Constitution wrote the Second Amendment. O’Rourke has officially initiated wide scale intimidation and violence against the American people and their property. Not only does his tyrannical gun confiscation proposal lack due process for tens of millions of Americans affected, but there isn’t even a shred of evidence that these Americans had committed a crime to begin with.
Sure, convicted criminals should not be allowed to pass a background check and should not be allowed to own firearms, and the NRA supports tougher enforcement of existing laws and the prosecution of violent criminals, but there is no justification for the democrats’ wide scale plan to confiscation firearms from law abiding citizens.
These gun-grabbing politicians prey on the emotions of Americans who have been struck by tragedy in order to manipulate them into giving up their rights and to get their vote. These knee-jerk acts of terrorism inflicted by the democrats and applauded the left wing media do not solve the problem; they add to it. Violence by any means stems from the intent of the individual and the human heart issues that are rooted in a lack of human empathy, and mental illness impulsivity that is exacerbated by the side effects of psychotropic drugs.
San Francisco inanely declares that “The National Rifle Association spreads propaganda that misinforms and aims to deceive the public about the dangers of gun violence.” In a sick twist of irony, this is exactly what CNN, WashPost, and MSNBC, does with their propaganda networks, promoting acts of terrorism and applauding threats from the left. Why hasn’t San Fran declared CNN a terrorist organization instead, and why haven’t these “enlightened” leaders sought to hold democratic candidates like Beto O’Rourke accountable for deceiving the public about the causes of violence?
