Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have arrested multiple criminal sexual predators who were living in the country illegally.
The agency targeted offenders with convictions for child rape, sexual assault and possession of child pornography in a sweeping nationwide operation. The arrests come as part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to remove dangerous criminals from American communities.
Over the weekend, ICE agents carried out targeted arrests – with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirming the apprehensions. Among those detained are:
DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin praised ICE agents for their work. She noted that despite a sharp rise in assaults against officers, they remain dedicated to protecting American communities. “We will only double down in getting these dangerous criminals off of our streets,” said McLaughlin.
Meanwhile, in one of the largest single-state workplace raids in recent history, ICE detained over 300 illegal immigrants at a cannabis farm in Ventura County, California. On July 10, agents raided the Glass House Farms cannabis cultivation facility, resulting in the arrest of 319 illegal immigrants.
Authorities also rescued 14 unaccompanied minors, some as young as 14, who were found at the site. Federal officials are investigating whether the children were subjected to forced labor or trafficking.
The operation marked one of the largest single-state workplace raids in ICE history, second only to the 2019 Mississippi poultry plant raids that netted nearly 700 arrests. It has also reignited debates over immigration enforcement, labor violations and public safety.
One of the arrested workers had a particularly disturbing criminal history. According to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Rodney Scott, the unnamed individual had previously been sentenced to seven years in prison for kidnapping and attempted rape, with an additional prior conviction for attempted child molestation. Shockingly, this felon was working at the same facility where children were present.
The raid was not without chaos. Protesters clashed with ICE agents, hurling rocks and bricks at law enforcement.
At one point, an individual appeared to fire a handgun toward officers, prompting agents to disperse the crowd with tear gas. Tragically, one worker died after climbing a 30-foot greenhouse structure and falling.
Glass House Farms is now under investigation for potential child labor violations. The company’s co-founder, Graham Farrar, has a history of political donations to both Democrats and Republicans, including a $10,000 contribution to California Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2018.
President Donald Trump responded angrily to the violence against ICE agents during the California raid.
On his Truth Social platform, he condemned the protesters as “thugs” and authorized ICE to take stronger measures to protect themselves in future operations. “I am giving total authorization for ICE to protect itself, just like they protect the public,” said Trump.
The recent ICE operations highlight the agency’s ongoing efforts to prioritize the arrest of violent criminals and shut down illegal enterprises that exploit vulnerable workers, including minors. While immigration enforcement remains a contentious issue, officials argue that targeting convicted felons and rescuing children from exploitation are clear-cut cases where enforcement is necessary. As investigations continue into both the sexual predator arrests and the California cannabis farm raid, one thing is certain: ICE’s mission to remove dangerous individuals from American communities remains a top priority, one that will likely remain a key focus in the ongoing national debate over immigration policy.
