Although many people have been returning to school and work recently and starting to move about with fewer restrictions, there is no denying that life has changed significantly from how it was before the pandemic.
Yes, it’s still strange to see everyone around us in stores wearing a mask. But one of the most worrying aspects of all this has been how the pandemic has been used to strip us of our freedoms. Of course, no one wants to spread this disease to vulnerable people, but where does all this stop?
A document from The Rockefeller Foundation has been a topic of discussion recently in some circles on account of how eerily it seems to predict the situation we are now finding ourselves in. Of course, much of what we are dealing with is to be expected with a global pandemic – and it is something that health experts have been warning could happen for many years. In fact, it was considered so likely that lots of simulations have been carried out to figure out how society might handle such an incident.
But the “Lock Step” scenario described in the Rockefeller Foundation’s “Scenarios for the Future of Technology and International Development” takes this a lot further than your typical hospital response simulation, outlining a scenario of martial law in the wake of a pandemic where everyone willingly gives up sovereignty in the name of protecting health until civil unrest grows to the point of taking down governments. It’s just one of four potential scenarios described in the 10-year-old document, but it’s a chilling one.
It refers to a theoretical new flu strain originating from wild geese that quickly overwhelmed even the most prepared countries, infecting nearly a fifth of the global population and killing 8 million people, including many healthy young adults.
Some passages sound like they could describe what we’re going through now. Consider the following: “The pandemic also had a deadly effect on economies: international mobility of both people and goods screeched to a halt, debilitating industries like tourism and breaking global supply chains. Even locally, normally bustling shops and office buildings sat empty for months, devoid of both employees and customers.”
As a result, in this scenario, national leaders who imposed strict restrictions and rules retained and even intensified this strong grip and became even more authoritarian after the pandemic ended in the name of “protection.”
Some citizens gave up some of their freedoms and privacy, much like we’re seeing now: “Citizens willingly gave up some of their sovereignty — and their privacy — to more paternalistic states in exchange for greater safety and stability. Citizens were more tolerant, and even eager, for top-down direction and oversight, and national leaders had more latitude to impose order in the ways they saw fit.”
However, people eventually grew tired of being controlled and conflict arose, with young people who lost their status and opportunity in the pandemic inciting much of the unrest. Civil protesters brought down governments, and the world started to unravel.
No one can say where the current pandemic will lead us, but it’s certainly within the realm of possibility that it could all end up much like this scenario describes – although it wouldn’t be that surprising if it all plays out in ways that globalist intuitions like the Rockefeller Foundation would be all too happy to take advantage of in some way.
After John D. Rockefeller managed to set up a hugely profitable monopoly for pharmaceuticals supported by medical schools in the early 1900s by ruining natural and herbal medicine – which is still mocked to some degree today thanks to his efforts – one really has to wonder what’s next and why the Rockefeller Foundation was so interested in such a scenario. There are so many opportunities to profit from this disease – and even more opportunities to convince scared people to hand over their freedoms.
