Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe revealed disturbing details of an FBI raid of his home over the weekend, describing tactics that resemble the vindictive and draconian arrest of Trump political advisor Roger Stone. Mr. O’Keefe, speaking with Sean Hannity on Monday night, described ten FBI agents arriving at his home with a battering ram on Saturday morning, handcuffing him before ransacking his home for several hours.

The FBI raid is in connection to the publication of a diary thought to belong to Ashley Biden, in which the President’s daughter describes her resentment of Hunter and Joe. It’s believed that Project Veritas originally obtained the diary, parts of which were later published by conservative website National File.
O’Keefe describes the FBI rummaging through his home for more than two hours, accessing documents and material related to other investigations that would implicate Biden and the federal government in misconduct.

Journalists involved with the publication of the diary describe it being found. Ashley Biden reportedly told the FBI that the diary had been stolen before the 2020 presidential election, and the FBI targeting of Veritas and O’Keefe all but confirms the document’s authenticity. Journalists are as liable for theft as anyone else, but the reporters involved in the diary story all deny any direct role in what Ashley Biden claims to be a theft, instead maintaining that the diary was merely found at a place where Ashley Biden was known to stay. Longstanding First Amendment protocol restrict journalists from being prosecuted for publishing information related to stolen material.
Civil liberties advocates have raised concerns about the dawn raid of a journalist’s home, whereas authoritarian liberals have demanding prosecution of O’Keefe and Veritas for their role in the publication of the document.
